OVERVIEW

This Tilicho Lake and Thorang La Pass trek has been planned to trek through the world’s highest lake and then trek up to the high pass of Thorang La and then to the holy place for both Hindus and Buddhists—Muktinath. This trek will begin from Besi Sahar in Marshyangdi Valley. From there, the trek continues up to Jagat, Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, Manang, Tilicho Lake, Thorang La Pass, Muktinath, and Jomsom.

This trekking trail passes through forests of pine, bamboo, and other fauna. While trekking, we can get a chance to see different species of birds and wildlife like pheasants, lophophorous, snow leopards, musk deer, yaks, etc. There are a few tea houses and lodges on the way to this trek. You can take a short tea or coffee break on the route, and you can stay overnight in the lodge. This is a quite difficult trek, so one must be very careful while trekking in this region. One can get sick from altitude sickness. To avoid this, we must properly acclimatize while trekking at altitude. Also, you must follow the instructions given by the trekking guide. Also, one must be careful about the weather, as the climate can be unpredictable at high altitudes.

On this trek, there are monasteries, chortens, and prayer wheels or flags along the way. You can enjoy your short visit here. Also, you can interact with the local people while visiting the village and take part in daily activities. This 19-day trek will be memorable. You can enjoy this trek with your friends and family during the holidays.
