OVERVIEW

Ramdung Peak (5,925m) is situated south of Na village in the upper Rolwaling region and is one of a cluster of peaks surrounding Yalung La (Yalung Ri). It provides access to upper Rolwaling from the south via the Khare Khola. The normal route to this mountain, through the glaciers of the North-East Flank, is straightforward. The mountain offers a panoramic view of mountain ranges from Langtang to Everest and also a splendid and fascinating view of Gauri Shankar and Menlungtse. This is the only trek you can do with two permits: climbing and trekking. Cross a river from Na Gaon, then climb up to Ramdung Peak base camp, then, after summiting the peak, descend to Tsho Rolpa Lake at Chhukima for camp, then the trail heads up to Tashi Lapcha Pass to walk down to Khumbu Valley to reach Namche and Lukla.
