Pikey Peak

The Pike Peak and Dudkunda Lake Trail is the newly opened trekking route in the lower Khumbu region. This trek is perfect for those who want to explore the quieter virgin areas, which offer dramatic exploration of the Himalaya. The trail follows the less crowded area with beautiful forest and high ridges, enjoying the panoramic Himalayan scenery including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Manaslu, Annapurna, and many other snow-covered peaks, mountain glaciers, green pine and rhododendron forests, highly culture-influenced villages, holy monasteries, prayer walls, and Holy Lake Dukunda.
The Dudh Kunda lies high in the mountains of the Southern Solukhumbhu, directly under the Numbulr Himal Range, and has several lakes with milky water. It is also known as the Lower Everest Trek. It lies off the beaten path and is perfect for nature lovers. This trek can only be done while camping. The trek goes into the Sherpalands and gives a great insight into their lifestyle. Dudh Kunda, a holy lake surrounded by mountainous terrain and believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, is a popular destination for Hindu pilgrimage tours and for adventure trekkers.
Dudh Kunda is situated in the lap of Mt. Numbur, locally known as Shorong Yul Lha, Protector of the Solu Khumbu region. Dudh Kunda (which literally means milky lake) is believed to be a holy lake, and the locals believe that taking a dip in the holy waters will have your wishes granted. You will also enjoy and see panoramic Himalayan views of Everest, Number, and the Everest Himalaya range, as well as a green forest with rhododendron flowers, pine trees, wild animals, and birds such as mountain thars, bears, leopards, jackals, pheasant, and Milky Lake. Devotees believe that taking a dip in its holy, cold water would absolve them of all their sins as well as bless childless families with children. During full moon nights in August, pilgrims and Jhankris (Shaman priests) hold a week-long celebration here. On the trail to Dudh Kunda, you’ll pass through Kaku, Basa, Taksindu, and Beni, where you’ll see some breathtaking panoramic views of mountain peaks, sparkling waterfalls, and tranquil lakes that will entice you to stop.

As you continue on, you’ll pass through dense forests of rhododendron, the national flower of Nepal, which are in bloom from March to May. Also in the fall (September to December), when the weather is temperate and the sky is clear, you can see these wild flowers in full bloom. Views of flora and fauna, as well as a variety of wildlife, will catch your attention but not slow you down. However, the hospitality of the locals is one of the most heartwarming experiences one can come across in this area, and they may have you stop to chat or entice you with something delicious to eat.
Dudh Kunda trekking is admired. The trekking trail lies in the Solu Khumbu region, though it is less crowded than the nearest in the Khumbu Himal range. Dudh Kunda (Milky Lake) lies at the foot of Number Himal. The Dudh Kunda Trekking Trail takes you through dense forests of rhododendron and a variety of wildlife. The hospitality of the Sherpa people is one of the most heartwarming experiences in the Solu area. Every August, there is an influx of Hindus and Buddhists who come to perform cleansing rituals at the lake. At other times, you are unlikely to meet anyone on this rarely traveled trail. Authentic Sherpa villages and Sherpa culture, rhododendron and magnolia forests, a Buddhist monastery, and a series of beautiful lakes, of which Dudh Kunda is the most revered
This newly opened and unique peaky Dudh Kunda trekking trail has been designed by "Nepal Venture Treks and Expeditions" for you to provide a magnificent look at the high mountains and isolated Solu region.
