LANGTANG TREK

The Tamang Heritage and Langtang Trek is a very rare trekking trail that has recently been discovered by the people for tourism. Tamang Heritage and Langtang Trek is undoubtedly one of the most fulfilling off-the-beaten-track experiences and adventurous short trekking routes for travelers who are short on time and are visiting Nepal just for a few days. Langtang Region offers travelers heavenly valleys with a combination of the ancient lifestyle of the Tibetan communities. This trek opens every doorway to the sacred Tibetan culture that permeates every stone and house trekkers pass on their way. The trail begins in an unexplored part of Langtang National Park, which has been a mystery to people for years. This particular portion of the trek provides visitors with a chance to venture deep into the Tibetan vicinity. The history of this particular region and its people is quite a story. The locals, who are now known as the "Tamang people," originally came from Kerung in Tibet, which is across the border from Nepal. They were actually Tibetan horse traders back then who migrated back and forth between the lowlands of Nepal and Tibet. The Tamang Heritage takes you back to ancient times, as they are considered one of the oldest tribes of Nepal whose roots are tied to the ancient people of Mongolia.

As much as the Tibetan culture and exquisite local architecture and festivals are the focal attraction of the trek, there is a lot more to it for the trekkers. En route, travelers will come across panoramic views of gigantic mountain peaks such as Jugal Himal, Manaslu Massif, Langtang, and Ganesh, along with meadows, forests, and alpine terrains where they will get a chance to sink in the aroma of the fresh rhododendrons. After a long, tiring walk with an aching foot, people get a chance to soak their feet in the natural hot spring baths at Tatopani, which relax the mind and the body. The adventure does not end here; for visitors who are nature lovers, Langtang Treks is simply a paradise, as it is also home to honey deer, musk deer, snow leopard, and mountain pheasant. The rarest breeding grounds for snow partridge and snow cock are also found here in the Langtang region. The trek allows trekkers to feel the serenity of nature as well as gain knowledge of the rich local culture, tradition, and beauty of the ethnic Tamang community.
