Located at an altitude of 6189 m (20,305  ft), Island Peak is one of the major climbing peaks in the Everest Region of Nepal, having an impressive and highly glaciated West Face aroused from the Lhotse Glacier.
Island Peak offers an exciting climbing experience beyond simply trekking in Nepal, with a hike to Everest Base Camp in one go. Standing at the summit of Island Peak provides you with almost the same unforgettable sense of accomplishment as if you were standing at the top of Mt. Everest itself. It is located on the top of the Chukung Glacier between Ama Dablam and Lhotse Mountains. The trek to Island Peak starts from Phakding, passing some famous tourist areas like Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Dulgha, Lobuche, Gorakshep, Kalapathar, etc. This climbing expedition provides the climbers with a spectacular view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Lhotse Middle Peak, Lhotse Shar, and Makalu, as well as the living standard, culture, and tradition of the local people residing there.
