OVERVIEW

Gokyo Lake Trek is truly one of Nepal’s most memorable sights that travelers take back to their homes. It gives trekkers an exceptional chance to encounter the world’s enormous Himalayan ranges, mostly those over 8000 m, which of course include Nepal’s pride, Mt. Everest. Visitors stumble upon the stunning lakes of the region while climbing higher. The sprinkling of blue and green colors in the water gives them a feeling of bliss and an overpowering sensation at the same time. As this trek consists of quite strenuous trails, it requires good physical fitness. The best time of the year for visitors to visit Gokyo Lake Trek would be spring and autumn, when nature showers its love on the place.
Gokyo Lakes are located in the Khumjung Village of Solukhumbu District in north-eastern Nepal. The beauty of the village, with a blend of moonscape-like glaciers and, most importantly, the magical holy lakes, is incredible and simply awe-inspiring. The special attraction of this trek is Gokyo Cho Lake, which is also known as Dudh Pokhari. It is the biggest lake in the region, covering an area of 42.9 ha (106 acres). Gokyo Lakes are located at an altitude of 4,700–5,000 m above sea level. The highest altitude that the travelers have to climb is 5350 m, which is the peak of the Gokyo Ri Mountain, sited on the west side of the Ngozumpa glacier, which is the largest glacier in Nepal and allegedly the largest in the entire Himalayas.
Walking up the trails of the Everest Region, passionate globetrotters witness the sights of Gokyo Valley, which is filled with a collection of stone houses and lush green meadows on the coast of Dudh Pokhari. For tourists who have exceptional love and longing for the flora and fauna, they can visit Sagarmatha National Park. The breathtaking sight of the 360-degree panoramic view of the mountain vistas along with the shiny turquoise blue water between them is purely astonishing.
