OVERVIEW

Also known as Annapurna Sunrise Trekking or Annapurna Panorama Trekking, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is one of the most prevalent trekking sites for internationals as well as locals. Ghorepani Poon Hill is certainly the best trekking destination for enthusiastic trekkers who have difficulties walking longer routes, as it is one of the shortest yet classic trekking trails in the lower part of the Annapurna Region and takes approximately seven days to complete. It has a magnificent view of the mountain ranges, which include Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, III, and IV, Lamjung Himal, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges, to name a few.
Gazing through the snow-covered mountains, especially in the early morning sunrise, travelers witness the peak of the mountains glowing textures, with the colors fading in and out from the rays of the sun. Just a sight of the snow-covered peaks turning from gray to pink to vivid white is tremendous. Ghorepani Poon Hill is considered a paradise for photographers as it gives a 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayas, giving travelers the feeling that they are just a few feet away from touching the peak of the mountains. As tiring as climbing the stone-paved staircase can get, passing through the Rhododendron forest and coming across the community people with the politest hospitality give trekkers a sense of comfort and warmth. Every bit of sweat and gluing steps are worth it when the trekkers wash their faces with the ice-cold water directly from the mountains.
At 3,210 meters, the Poon Hill Trek is one of the most magical and breath-taking experiences anyone will ever have. The spectacular scenic communities settled by ethnic natives, along with the lush green vegetation, mountain ranges, rhododendron forests, and heterogeneous landscapes, are Mother Nature’s true delicacies of the region.
