OVERVIEW

Everest Base Camp is one of the top reasons for trekkers to visit Nepal. As Nepal is globally known as the country with the tallest mountain, Everest Base Camp is where trekkers can experience the spectacular view of Mt. Everest as closely as possible. Everest Base Camp lies 5380 m above sea level, from which not just Mt. Everest appears to be the nearest but three other highest peaks of the world, including Lhotse, which is 8,516m, Makalu (8,481 m), and Cho Oyu (8,201 m), are also visible. The exceptional view of the serene mountain range is the key reason why people fall in love with the country of Nepal. Apart from the view, the awe-inspiring sensation throughout the journey enlightens the travelers to the most beautiful side of life.
Travelers get to breathe in the fresh breeze of the lush green forest, mesmerizing waterfalls, and groves of rhododendrons. The remarkable culture of the Sherpas can be experienced by visiting the monasteries and museums that tourists pass along their way. The colorful and placid prayer wheels on the trails give tourists a touch of Buddhism, which believes in peace and prosperity in the world. Stumbling across the swinging bridges is overwhelming, and the thrill is real. As the rails have been stepped on by the very famous Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, who were the first to successfully climb Mt. Everest in 1953, the trekkers feel a sense of accomplishment walking through the same pathway the world-famous trekkers did.
The whole experience towards the base camp is simple and sweet, with no technical climbing involved in it; however, the altitude might be something visitors should be aware of. With the growing altitude, travelers should be more careful while pacing, and we recommend taking as much time to accommodate as they want.
